Mechanical Designer
Job Description
The Application Engineer will create drawings and part instructions for use in our manufacturing process and create drawings for the Purchasing Department as required. Attention to detail and customer specifications are essential, along with the ability to translate assembly drawings and layouts. As a member of the Engineering Department, strong interpersonal communication skills are critical for effective teamwork.
Duties:
Prepare drawings per customer specifications. Review the project to ensure expectations are understood.
Prepare drawing details for purchasing all subcontracted components.
Create details from layouts or create assembly drawings for components as required for production.
Create routings and drawings as needed.
Ensure all drawings have revision levels and specified tolerances that match customer requirements.
Make corrections on all drawings as directed by the Quality department, ensuring revision levels are updated for all drawings.
Essential Skills:
Proficiency in Solidworks
Experience with bill of material
Quoting and purchase order processes
Mechanical design and design for manufacturing
Ability to break down drawings for laser programming and drafting
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
1+ year of Solidworks experience
Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Mechanical Design or Engineering
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Mechanical inclination
Work Environment:
The work environment includes an office for engineers, estimators, schedulers, and salespeople, with engineers working in cubicles. There is a shop in the back that assembles all of the parts and ships them out.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00
