Yard Attendant/ Shop Technician

Job Description
The Yard Attendant is responsible for the daily cleaning and maintenance of the branch service department, maintaining an orderly yard, cleaning all units brought into the facility, receiving and shipping equipment, and assisting all departments with repair parts or materials. This role requires performing other general service department duties as directed by the Branch Manager.
Looking for an individual who is eager to learn and grow within a large company. This position is fast paced with a lot of opportunity to shadow/ learn the skills of mechanics and service technicians (construction equipment).
Responsibilities
Ensure the shop is maintained and cleaned daily.
Clean all units before and after repairs are completed by technicians.
Clean and maintain the yard and attachments.
Fuel and inspect all company-owned equipment.
Operate a forklift.
Using internal system to record and take pictures of damages prior to services.
Complete shipping and receiving documentation with photos for all company-owned equipment and attachments.
Assist the Branch Manager with inventory control as needed.
Assist the parts and sales departments in acquiring and delivering parts needed by the service department.
Assist the sales department with the delivery of demonstration sales equipment as needed.
Perform other duties assigned and directed by corporate management within the framework of the company's objectives.
Essential Skills
Ability to follow instructions and pre-established guidelines.
Knowledge of machines and tools used for repair, maintenance, and cleaning of facilities.
Forklift operation skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to process work accurately.
Timely completion of required documentation and reports.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and the Internet.
Basic knowledge of office machines, including copier, fax, and printer.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Ability to meet commitments and deadlines.
Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
Flexibility to work a varied schedule as needed.
Openness to new procedures, technology, and structure.
Must be willing to submit to a post offer drug screen.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in equipment operation, mechanical work, construction, farming, general labor, and hand tools.
Experience with washing, cleaning, and oil changes.

Work Environment
The work environment includes a large heavy equipment shop, working around trucks and construction equipment, with most duties performed outdoors in the yard. You will be working Monday through Friday from 8am to 4:30pm with one other yard attendant and reporting to the Rental Manager. This is a fast-paced environment with lots of moving tasks. The role requires the ability to lift and push a minimum of 50 lbs frequently, and the ability to walk, climb, stoop, reach, crawl, crouch, stand, and kneel for extended periods. Flexibility to work some Saturdays is also needed.

This is a Contract position based out of Omaha, Nebraska.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
