Job Title: Electrical Technician

Job Description

Technicians will be responsible for pulling fiber and CAT6 cable in a central utility plant. You must be able to terminate and splice cables, read prints, and perform work with minimal supervision. Additionally, you will need to build cable trays, racking, and closets, as well as understand color coding. The role requires someone who can learn and retain new information and is trainable.

Responsibilities

  • Pull fiber and CAT6 cable in a central utility plant.

  • Terminate and splice cables.

  • Read and interpret prints.

  • Perform work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Build cable trays, racking, and closets.

  • Understand color coding.

  • Learn and retain new information.

Essential Skills

  • Cable pulling, splicing, and termination experience with CAT6 and Fiber (3-5 years).

  • Ability to read and interpret wiring schematics and blueprints.

  • Knowledge of OTDR and mechanical splicing.

  • Experience with cable tray and racking.

  • Flexible schedule for the first month to work both day and night shifts.

  • Ability to work 10-12 hour shifts.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Testing experience or termination experience.

  • BICSI certification.

  • Knowledge of schematic and blueprint reading.

This is a long-term project lasting 6-8 years, providing consistent employment. You will receive weekly pay and have the opportunity for overtime.

Work Environment

This role is based at a large commercial airport project with various trades on site. Security protocols must be followed, including rally points and gated areas with buses to the work area. Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times, and a visible badge is required.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Omaha, Nebraska.

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00
