Providence St. Joseph Health Mental Health Counselor Masters - Crisis Service Center in Olympia, Washington

Description Mental Health Counselor Masters - Providence St. Peter Hospital Supporting the Crisis Service Center within the Emergency Department SCHEDULE: 0.9 FTE, averaging 36 hours per week. Three, 12-hour NIGHT shifts. 5:30 PM - 6:00 AM PST. Days may vary based on department needs, weekend rotation included. The Mental Health Counselor-Masters (MHC-MA ) is a behavioral health professional who provides crisis management; intervention; an emergent clinical evaluation; information; follow-up referrals; and discharge planning to patients and families who present in the Emergency Center with a wide variety of psychiatric, chemical addiction, and psych-social problems. The MHC-MA collaborates with PES medical staff and a crisis services team, working throughout the Emergency Center and the locked Crisis Unit to ensure the safety of patients and appropriate care for their emergent needs. The MHC-MA provides timely charting and performs administrative tasks in an electronic health record. The MHC-MA must qualify for an Agency Affiliated Counselor credential with the state of WA DOH, and preferably has a minimum of a Licensed Agency Affiliated Counselor credential OR Associate-level license in social work or counseling. Required Qualifications: Master's Degree in Social Work, Human Services or Psychosocial/Mental Health Field. 1 year Clinical crisis evaluation and intervention in an acute psychiatric setting with an emphasis on quick assessment skills.
