The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has an exciting opportunity for a Fiscal Analyst 2 (FA2) within our Incident Business Section. This position will independently analyze and complete research on Wildland Fire expenditures, present findings, and provide recommendations to the supervisor. Perform day-to-day fiscal actions including coding and preparing payable requests for the Wildland Fire Management Division. This position is an integral part of the Incident Business Team and will provide backup support to other team members as needed during periods of high workloads.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and research Wildland Fire expenditures associated with Fire Management Assistant Grant (FMAG) and Third-Party Cost Recovery incidents.
  • Analyze and code Wildland Fire payables and prepare Invoice Payment Requests (IPRs).
  • Special Projects- Ad hoc reports, documentation retrieval, assistance in fiscal year close, and expenditure correction requests.

Required Qualifications:

  • An associate degree in accounting, auditing, budgeting, or general business administration; AND 1 year experience in a financial field; OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Successful completion of 18 quarters/12 semester credits in accounting or a closely related field; OR successful completion of accounting credits within 12 months of hire.
  • 1-2 years of experience in the financial field (Additional education may substitute for experience).

  • Perform assigned duties in a manner consistent with applicable laws, regulations and public records retention and requests are followed.
