Position Summary

The Senior Manager, Lean Leadership and Systems Development, will play a pivotal role in driving the company's strategic initiatives and fostering a culture of employee engagement and continuous improvement. This role is responsible for leading the site in the ongoing development and continuous reinforcement of standards and habits that collectively form sustainable systems of continuous improvement for both people and processes towards objectives aligned with our values and purpose. This will be accomplished through a combination of implementing lean management processes and practices, developing leaders at every level, building a continuous training environment that reinforces skill competencies and the integrity of our processes and standards, and helping the site senior leadership team as it collectively works to advance its strategic transformation initiatives. The successful candidate will be a change agent, dedicated to enhancing operational efficiency, driving results, and delivering on organizational goals through consistent cultivation of systems, practices, and engagement at all employee levels. The position will sit on the leadership teams of Global Enterprise Excellence and Americas L&D Operations.

Principal Responsibilities

  1. Serve as a Key Leader in Driving Site Strategy and Transformation:

 Help develop and steer the implementation of the site strategy aligned with the company's vision and objectives.

 Ensure transformation programs are guided by our enterprise excellence principles and transformation framework.

 Collaborate with and support cross-functional teams in identifying, prioritizing, and executing improvement initiatives that drive results for the business. Building strong partnerships with other leaders will be a critical and continuous task to successfully inspire “buy-in” and “ownership” for standards, systems, and objectives.

 Monitor progress and performance of transformation projects, ensuring timely delivery and achievement of desired outcomes.

 Communicate strategy, goals, and progress to stakeholders at all levels, fostering engagement and support.

  1. Developing Lean Leadership Capabilities Throughout the Organization:

 Design and deliver specific programs to build lean leadership skills across all levels of the organization.

 Mentor and coach leaders and teams on lean principles, tools, and techniques. This requires daily presence and engagement to ensure that expectations are clearly understood and intended results are consistently achieved.

 Foster a culture of continuous improvement by enabling employees to identify and solve problems. There must be a strong belief in the potential of all employees and a relentless determination to provide that opportunity through training, coaching, mentoring, and empowerment.

 Promote and model lean leadership behaviors, encouraging accountability, collaboration, and innovation.

 Evaluate the effectiveness of leadership development programs and adjust as needed.

  1. Establishing Effective Integrated Management Systems:

 Lead the ongoing development and execution of integrated lean management system and site operating standards across all levels in the business.

 Ensure teams at all levels are fully equipped with the right structures, systems and skills needed to achieve their goals.

 Establish a comprehensive suite of performance metrics that drives decision-making and improvement efforts.

 Facilitate regular reviews and problem-solving sessions to address issues and capitalize on opportunities.

 Continuously assess and refine daily management systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

  1. Building a Continuous Training Environment to Grow Future Capabilities:

 Design support processes and systems to enable effective use of the Training Within Industry on-the-job training method for teaching operational processes.

 Implement advanced skills training program to both enhance process compliance and enable internal employee career growth.

 Partner with key operational stakeholders to convert various process performance feedback criteria into training improvement initiatives.

 Ensure site training activities reinforce strategic objectives and continuous development of workforce values, standards, and skills.

Education / Experience Requirements

 Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

 Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in lean leadership, continuous improvement, or operational excellence roles. Relevant operational leadership experience will be considered with clear demonstration of desired skills, experience, and proficiency.

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

 Proven track record of leading large-scale transformation programs and delivering measurable results.

 Keen understanding of organizational change management principles and the practices necessary to develop buy-in and ownership across various levels of the organization that are not within the direct reporting structure.

 Strong knowledge of lean principles, tools, and methodologies.

 Excellent leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills.

 Superior communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.

 Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

 Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies is highly desirable. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and influence teams across geographical boundaries.

 The position is required to be site-based (Olive Branch, MS).
