Job Purpose and Impact

The Veterinary Technical Services Specialist - Poultry will provide industry expertise to our key internal and external accounts regarding the best health and nutritional solutions and technology. In this role, you will serve as an industry leading professional enabling the business to enhance its commercial growth potential by leveraging unparalleled technology and groundbreaking solutions to create value added solutions for our key customers and prospects.

Key Accountabilities

  • Serve as the point of contact for health and nutrition expertise and use this expertise to influence prospective customers.

  • Develop and implement a plan with commercial team to partner with key accounts to achieve trusted advisor status and drive value added focus to enable delivery on customer promise.

  • Support poultry producers by providing in-field evaluation of health and production issues and offer potential solutions.

  • Provide expertise to assess new business opportunities and identifying priorities in the innovation pipeline to optimize health and nutrition solutions and enable the ability to create optimal offers from a health, nutritional and commercial perspective.

  • Support field research at the customer level for product development, partnering with key internal and external stakeholders to test new technologies and solutions.

  • Prepare project data and conclusions for internal and key customer presentations to make recommendations and product demonstrations.

  • Develop training resources to provide guidance to commercial and technical teams to improve our value creation and sales effectiveness.

  • Provide expert thought leadership in your field and work with limited direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues or problems. You may provide direction to supporting team members and be a strategic contributor.

  • Assist strategic marketing and innovation team by providing commercial insights that support strategy development and achievement of commercial goals.

  • Represent Cargill at trade shows, academic conferences and local poultry meetings to understand industry’s issues and build relationships.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine

  • Minimum of six years of related work experience

  • Broiler or Turkey production expertise

  • Poultry intestinal health expertise

  • Ability to travel up to 50%

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience developing and fostering strong relationships with internal and external partners.

  • Experience leading data collection related to trials or studies.

  • Experience providing guidance and support for the execution of research trials or studies ensuring all parties involved follow protocols.

  • ACPV Certification

  • High level involvement with industry associations such as AAAP.

Location: This position is open to a remote home office in the US.

The expected salary for this position is $165,000 - $195,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance.

Minnesota Sick and Safe Leave accruals of one hour for every 30 worked, up to 48 hours per calendar year unless otherwise provided by law.
