Local Heavy Equipment Service Technician

1st shift: Monday - Friday 7am - 4pm - Pay Range $25-$30/hr.

Job Description

The Service Technician is responsible for working on tear down, inspection, and repair of heavy-duty off-highway equipment. The Service Technician builds and maintains relationships with service and re-manufacturing customers and vendors by identifying and providing solutions to equipment malfunctions and failures. This involves the inspection, diagnosis, repair, reconditioning, and preparation of equipment both in-house and in the field. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, full 40 hours, typically from 7am to 4pm with some flexibility once direct.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Attend and contribute to daily start-up meeting.

  • Understand and follow Standard work for Service Department but also contribute ideas to improve our methods.

  • Disassemble units for diagnosis and/or repair.

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose unit failures.

  • Clean and degrease parts using appropriate chemicals and cleaning devises.

  • Recondition and/or replace damaged parts and reassemble units using appropriate manuals and schematics.

  • Paint reassembled units and prepare for storage or shipment.

  • Perform all other duties as requested, assigned or required.
