Aston Carter Accounts Receivable Collections Specialist in OLATHE, Kansas

Aston Carter is partnered with a great company in the Olathe area who is looking to add a Business-To-Business Collections Specialist to their team! This is a great, long-term opportunity with a company that has been around for many years. Once going on permanent, this role has the opportunity to earn up to a $5k bonus (based on AR metrics). Job Description:

  • Making outbound collection calls in a professional manner while keeping and improving customer relations. Review and monitor assigned accounts and all applicable collection reports

  • Provide timely follow-up on payment arrangements or non-payment

  • Use good judgment when evaluating credit reports to establish a credit line for new customers. Reviewing current customers for either increase or decrease of credit limit.

  • Communicate with Customer Service/Sales Department regarding customer claims for credit or billing errors.

  • Able to work efficiently with Excel, and company accounting software programs

  • Minimal billing through web-based billing portals for some assigned customers

  • Identify issues attributing to account delinquency and discuss them with management for possible third-party collections and/or placing on hold

  • Set up new customers or revise customer data in software

  • Working closely with Cash Applications department on payment posting issues and/or submitting credit card payment forms

  • Retrieving packing list and POD’s for customers to assist in processing payment in a timely manner

  • Reviewing customer orders 4 to 8 times a day prior to shipping while evaluating payment history in order to release orders for Sales Department

  • Research short paid invoices for resolution

  • Retrieving and emailing invoices to customers per their request

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of business-to-business collections experience required

  • Bachelors degree preferred
