The Boeing Product & Services Safety (P&SS) organization is seeking a Senior Airworthiness Certification Engineer to join the Regulatory Administration and Airworthiness Division in Oklahoma City, OK.
As the Airworthiness Certification Engineer for the B-52 Commercial Engine Replacement Program (CERP), you will take on a key leadership role in ensuring airworthiness certification. Your primary responsibilities will include guiding engineering leadership and their teams through the certification process, adhering to MIL-HDBK-516C and relevant regulatory standards. In addition, you will be tasked with providing regular status updates and metrics to executive program leadership.
The ideal candidate will bring a robust background in leading multi-disciplinary teams to meet challenging deadlines. You should have extensive experience in managing or leading projects and teams, showcasing your ability to drive success across diverse initiatives. A proven history of overseeing large projects or programs, utilizing project management tools and processes effectively, is crucial. Additionally, experience in planning project budgets and monitoring financial performance is required.
Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including, Senior (Level 4) and Senior (Level 5) Engineers.
Primary Responsibilities:
Oversees the identification, analysis, and assessment of regulatory and contractual compliance of aerospace systems, products and services
Leads collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to define, validate, and integrate airworthiness and regulatory compliance requirements; provides recommendations for incorporating into designs, operations, and procedures
Oversees reviews of regulatory and customer requirements and evaluation of impact to company products and services
Leads the review of highly complex regulatory and certification technical data for completeness and alignment to applicable regulatory and contractual requirements
Oversees development of a compliance statement for the airworthiness of aerospace systems and products
Advises on process or reported in-service fleet issue improvements for achieving regulatory compliance
Leads engagement with regulators on complex programs or initiatives to shape and influence certification strategies, approaches, activities. Leads partnership and integration with regulatory authorities to complete validation of airworthiness to applicable requirements as authorized
Provides consultation on technical support, training, tools and resources provided to the delegated approval organization
Advises throughout the development of compliance reports and documents in accordance with applicable requirements and regulations
Leads, promotes and provides recommendations on global regulatory advocacy strategies, trainings, tools, and methods
Provides advanced technical consultation across the enterprise on aerospace regulatory compliance projects and programs
Defines complex research and development activities resulting in innovative solutions
Participates in industry standards development and benchmarking to inform new and innovative solutions
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Oklahoma City, OK.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
5+ years of experience do you have as a Project Engineer, Project Manager, Integrated Product Team Lead, and/or in Test and Evaluation Leadership
5+ years of experience with Commercial and/or Military safety, certification and qualification processes necessary to obtain flight clearances
2+ years of experience do you have with external regulatory/airworthiness authorities
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
10 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience in military Handbook 516C (MIL-HDBK-516C), or EMAR21J airworthiness
Experience in FAA certification
Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams to meet aggressive schedules
Experience leading or managing projects and/or teams
Experience leading a large project or program which required the use of project management tools and processes
Experience with the operation of aircraft systems and knowledge of aircraft performance in one or more of the following areas: aerodynamics, stability and control, propulsion, structures, and mission systems
Experience with planning project budgets and monitoring financial performance
Typical Education / Experience:
Senior (Level 4): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Senior (Level 5): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range for Senior (Level 4): $111,350 – $150,650
Summary Pay Range for Senior (Level 5): $136,850 - $185,150
