ASM Global Operations Supervisor in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Position Summary

Under general supervision of the Operations Manager, perform and lead facility personnel in the successful preparation and execution of events at the facility. Duties include performing skilled and semi-skilled tasks, which often require heavy lifting and a high degree of physical exertion.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Participate in all aspects of the conversion process in preparation for events.

  • Duties may include setting up portable chairs, barricades, staging, tables, other furnishings and equipment.

  • Lead full-time, part-time employees and contract workers in completion of any number of various operations tasks assigned by the Operations Manager.

  • Perform various duties to ensure the day-to-day operations of the facility are met. These include, but not limited to loading/unloading delivery trucks, transporting trash and waste to proper disposal area and replenishing supplies.

  • Assist with all event cleaning and janitorial tasks including, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, vacuuming, spot cleaning, washing, laundry, stripping, carpet cleaning, window washing and waxing.

  • Assist building engineers and subcontractors in construction, repair and maintenance activities of the building.

  • Ensure proper use of all chemicals by operations staff in accordance with MSDS.

  • Report irregularities, discrepancies, safety or damage concerns or loss of property promptly to Operations Manager.

  • Monitor and discuss disruptions, concerns and violations of procedures with Operations Manager.

  • Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays, as needed.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Demonstrate knowledge of practices and procedures related to event set-up and conversions; typical methods and techniques for cleaning and maintaining the facility; and proper use and care of hand and power tools.

  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.

  • Follow all policies/procedures, risk management, safety precautions, rules, regulations and emergency procedures established at the facility.

  • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.

  • Work effectively with minimal supervision and take initiative.

  • Ability to work under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results.

  • Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines. Ability to adjust to event request changes from managers or event needs as they occur.

  • Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons and others encountered in the course of employment.

  • Licensed and insured to operate a motor vehicle in the United States.

  • Ability to operate equipment such as light trucks, golf carts, pallet jacks, forklifts, genie lifts, carts, fire extinguishers or other light power-driven equipment, as necessary.

Minimum Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED. and one (1) to three (3) months related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • One (1) to (2) years supervisory experience; preferred.

Computer Skills

General ability to operate a computer using Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, and other standard office equipment.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervision over work of full-time and part-time operations employees and contractors as assigned by Operations Manager.

  • This position requires stooping and lifting, substantial walking and manual dexterity. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

  • Operate equipment such as light trucks, golf carts, pallet jacks, forklifts, genie lifts, carts, fire extinguishers or other light power-driven equipment, as necessary.
