DESCRIPTION OF WORK:

  • We will give you the tools and training to prepare you to perform beginning-level technical work assisting in the preparation of a wide variety of highway, bridge, and right-of-way plot, plans and similar supplemental drawings. In this position, you will use computer-aided drafting and design (CADD) workstations and conventional drafting techniques to help other team members draft detailed construction plans and collaborate with them on complex or unusual issues to fulfill the maintenance unit's business plan and other departmental objectives.
  • You can expect to interpret conventional and three-dimensional surveys to produce plan sheets of existing geometry, plot deeds to develop right-of-way plans, and use various systems to gather information to prepare miscellaneous maps, sketches, and graphs. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Work hours may vary due to weather and field conditions, and requires working in inclement conditions.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, on an ad hoc basis. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Oil City.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • An associate degree in surveying, drafting, designing, civil, or any other appropriate field of engineering technology.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 6 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Other Requirements:

  • This particular position requires possession of a valid Class C Driver's License.
