JOB TITLE: SR. QUALITY ENGINEER LOCATION: OGDEN, UTAH (FULL-TIME, IN-OFFICE/ONSITE) ABOUT IPARAMETRICS & THE PROJECT Founded in 2003, iParametrics is a leader in providing innovative solutions in engineering, construction, emergency management, security, and data analytics for both commercial and public sector clients. As a proud subcontractor to Bechtel, we are contributing to the U.S. Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program, a critical U.S. Air Force initiative aimed at modernizing the nation’s aging inter-continental ballistic missile (ICBM) force. This program is essential for maintaining the ground element of the U.S. nuclear deterrent. As part of the Northrop Grumman GBSD nationwide team, Bechtel is responsible for the design, construction, and integration of the launch system. POSITION DESCRIPTION The Quality Engineer will play a critical role in supporting the project engineering team to ensure inter-discipline coordination and the quality of deliverables for a DOD/USAF project, specifically the USAF Sentinel (GBSD) program during its Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase. This position focuses on maintaining project engineering procedures and actively participating in the project’s quality and corrective action programs. The successful candidate will possess strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently, solve problems effectively, and adapt to changing project needs. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform engineering design and tasks within a discipline, managing projects with varying degrees of complexity.

  • Review and check designs, drawings, and data produced by other engineers or suppliers to ensure accuracy and quality.

  • Oversee the review of multi-discipline engineering deliverables, ensuring cohesiveness, coordination, and adherence to quality standards.

  • Coordinate quality reviews of deliverable packages before submission to the customer, ensuring all standards are met.

  • Gather inputs and technical information from senior engineers across multiple disciplines to complete assigned tasks effectively.

  • Develop and maintain project engineering procedures, aligning with Bechtel NS&E GBU, corporate procedures, contract requirements, and applicable codes and standards.

  • Conduct self-assessments within the engineering department to ensure compliance with established procedures.

  • Develop and deliver training on procedures, policies, and instructions to engineering personnel.

  • Identify, prepare, and report on project engineering quality metrics and trends, and present these reports to Bechtel management and customer personnel.

  • Participate in project quality surveillances and audits, and coordinate Closed-Loop Corrective Action (CLCA) program initiatives with project engineering teams.

  • Attend Condition Report Review Committee (CRRC) meetings as the engineering point of contact.

  • Promote the Condition Reporting and Lessons Learned programs through applications like DevonWay or similar.

  • Monitor the timely closure of engineering condition reports and associated actions, providing feedback and lessons learned to the engineering team.

  • Collaborate with engineering disciplines to plan and execute work as an integrated team, ensuring alignment and quality.

  • Coordinate with client representatives as required, maintaining effective communication and project alignment.

  • Lead small engineering task groups when needed, driving team performance and task completion.

  • Analyze engineering processes to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.

  • Maintain configuration management and ensure changes to processes are communicated clearly to relevant engineers.

  • Work collaboratively to develop and optimize processes and procedures, meeting customer needs and ensuring high-quality deliverables.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS degree in a related engineering field from an accredited university and 9 years of related experience or in lieu of a degree, 15 years of related experience. Proven leadership experience or education. 

  • U.S. Citizenship is required 

  • Must be able to obtain a DoD Security Clearance. 

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience in engineering for construction projects 

  • Experience with quality assurance programs, such as ISO-9001D 

  • Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills 

Candidate must have strong organizational skills 

Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft 365 application suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) 

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in procedure and/or instruction preparation 

  • Experience with configuration management codes and standards for DOD, specifically EIA 649-1. 

  • Experience working with government agencies, preferably the Department of Defense (DoD) 

  • Familiarity with Bechtel Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), Engineering Department 

  • Procedure Instructions (EDPIs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs) 

  • Experience in development and presentation of training material 

  • Prior supervisory experience requiring cross-discipline coordination 

  • USACE Construction Quality Management training or USACE Contractor Quality Control experience 

  • Current (not expired) Professional Engineer’s License 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications Power-BI, Access, and SharePoint 

      BENEFITS & COMPENSATION As a W2 employee of iParametrics, team members are eligible for benefits such as medical, dental and vision, and the company matching 401K plan, subject to plan terms and applicable waiting periods. Compensation for this position is hourly ($29.30 - $63.35) based on experience, background, and skills.
