Weber State University Safe@Weber Peer Educator in OGDEN, Utah

Safe@Weber Peer Educators assist the Safe@Weber team in the development and facilitation of workshops on topics of consent,healthy relationships,bystander intervention,survivor support,and dynamics of sexual/physical/emotional abuse. Peer Educators also assist in administrative and outreach efforts as well as Safe@Weber programming.Each Student Assistant will be assigned one of three main positions: Operation & Outreach,Violence Prevention Peer Educator,or Education & Empowerment Peer Programer. Operations & Outreach Assistant assists the Administrative Specialist in day-to-day clerical/operational office tasks,and works with the Safe@Weber Violence Prevention Coordinator and Victim/Survivor Advocate in managing the Safe@Weber s social media accounts and marketing campaigns. Key skills include: Administrative and/or clerical; quantitative and qualitative assessment; outreach and communication; budget reconciliation. Key skills include: Facebook and Instagram management,outreach and communication skills,graphic design skills,interview skills.Education & Empowerment Peer Programer helps to plan,implement,and assess our monthly and annual Safe@Weber programs and events,including events such as Self-Care Affairs,Clothesline Project,Domestic Violence Awareness Month,Sexual Assault Awareness Month,Take Back the Night,film screenings,speakers,workshops,etc. Key skills include: program and event planning; research; presentation and workshop development; teaching,community education,and public speaking; quantitative and qualitative assessment; community organizing.Violence Prevention Peer Educator co-facilitates peer-to-peer workshops aimed to prevent discrimination,harassment,and sexual misconduct within the Weber State University community; conducts outreach to students and student organizations; collaborates with other campus entities to develop culturally-specific workshops for various communities Key skills include: presentation and workshop development; research; presentationalspeaking; group facilitation and teaching; interpersonal communication; campus outreach
