Fresenius Medical Care North America Electrician Apprentice in Ogden, Utah
PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
Responsible for the maintenance, repair, and construction activities assigned to the facilities department. This also includes facility maintenance/construction/electrical activities in the production departments as needed to reduce the need for outside electrical contract labor. Compliance with all electrical codes.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under limited supervision, applies considerable knowledge to perform a broad range of tasks which include but are not limited to resolving problems in electrical circuits, systems, and equipment.
Assigned to tasks that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues and/or in making recommendations.
Supports the construction team in Facilities Electrical Maintenance and Construction trades.
Performs inspections of plant electrical systems
Install and connect power supply wiring, cables, conduit, and electrical apparatus for new and existing facilities
Complete minor facility electrical projects limiting the need for contract labor
Installs conduits and pipes to house electrical wires and cables
Install circuit breakers and other electrical hardware
Tests plant electrical systems to ensure proper installation and operation
Perform after hour support of electrical needs for the plant limiting the need for contract labor
Maintain general housekeeping of working area and plant electrical rooms
Contacts are frequently with individuals representing other departments, and/or representing outside organizations. Contacts involve obtaining or providing information or data on matters of moderate importance to the function of the department or which may be of a sensitive nature.
Normally receives no instruction on routine daily work, and general instructions on newly introduced assignments.
May escalate issues to supervisor for resolution, as deemed necessary.
Review and comply with the Code of Business Conduct and all applicable company policies and procedures, local, state and federal laws and regulations.
Stay current and maintain an accredited Apprentice Electricians license
Adhere to NEC and NFPA regulations
Assist with various projects as assigned by direct supervisor.
Other duties as assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually low.

EDUCATION :
- Valid Electrical apprenticeship license required
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS :
1–4 years’ related experience in the electrical trade
Forklift certification.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret all construction and facility drawings, wiring diagrams, and electrical testing equipment
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume, current, resistance, and voltage. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
