SERVICE EXPERTS LLC Building Service Worker II in OGDEN, Utah

OVERVIEW :

Under the close supervision of an administrative superior, performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled building construction, alteration, and maintenance repair work.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES :

(Any one position may not include all of the duties listed, nor do the listed examples include all duties which may be found in positions of this class.)

Assists the Lead Building Service Worker in determining equipment, tools, and materials required for assigned tasks; serves as a lead worker over other volunteer workers.

Performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled painting, carpentry, plastering, masonry, plumbing, metal work, electrical, mechanical maintenance, and related work.

Hangs doors, lays flooring, installs partitions and drop ceilings, repairs door closures and performs other carpentry work.

Repairs faucets, unstops clogged lines and performs other plumbing work.

Installs and replaces light fixtures, outlets, bulbs, fuses, and performs other electrical work.

Maintains and repairs locks, appliances, boilers, pneumatic controls, heating and refrigeration systems and related mechanical devices; monitors gauges and a djusts controls on equipment.

Paints and redecorates walls, woodwork, furniture, and fixtures.

Welds, brazes, solders, and cuts material using oxy-acetylene and electric welding equipment to repair existing structures or in the construction of new facilities.

Performs a variety of general custodial functions such as emptying trash, picking up litter, cleaning windows, sweeping and cleaning restrooms and other areas. Performs other duties in connections with the operation of the facility and/or area as may be assigned.

Reads, interprets, and works from sketches, diagrams, and blueprints.

Other duties as assigned.

ABOUT YOU :

Education: High school graduation or equivalent.

Experience: Two (2) to four (4) years of diversified experience in Building Construction, Alteration, Maintenance, and Repair Work.

Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge: Considerable knowledge of the standard methods, practices, tools, and materials used in a variety of building maintenance functions; working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions common to building maintenance.

Skills: Skilled in the use of specialized and common tools and materials of several trades.

Abilities: Ability, if assigned, to lead and organize the work of others; ability to read, interpret, and work from sketches, diagrams and blueprints; ability to make cost estimates of time and materials; ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; ability to perform moderately strenuous manual labor for extended periods of time; ability to establish and maintain effec tive working relationships with employees, other departments, and the general public.

YOUR SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS :

Must possess or be able to possess a valid Utah Driver's License and have a good driving record.

Must be able to be on call 24 hours a day; must have a telephone.

Must be adaptable to changing work hours as shift hours may be varied.

Working days may include weekends, and holidays; and working hours could include early mornings and late nights.

Service workers are required to be on rotating holiday and weekend checks.

Must be able to operate motorized vehicles and equipment, including dump truck , truck mounted snow plow, pickup truck, utility truck, pumps, compressors, sanders, generators, common hand and power tools, shovels, wrenches, detection devices, and mobile radio.

Able to operate mowers, weed eaters, tractors and other lawn mowing equipment, fix sprinklers and water pipes.

Able to weed and maintain flower beds.

Due to the nature of this position, the successful candidate may be required to complete a p re-employment background check prior to starting the position.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 65 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibration. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
