Position Overview

This is a skilled position where the employee would be responsible for the day to day activities of ensuring compliance in driver qualification files, employee files and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Review and process all driver applicant qualification documents for accuracy and completeness
  • Requests and reviews background investigation reports such as initial MVR's and background checks.
  • Track all expiration dates for driver credentials (CDL License, Haz-Mat Endorsement, Medical Cards, etc) and send renewal notification reports to Field Supervisors, Managers and Employees
  • Complete Annual Driver Review to include request for annual MVR's and distribution/collection of signed certificates of violation from Managers
  • Assist in completing all driver safety performance history checks and DOT drug/alcohol history checks
  • Populate and manage Viewpoint to ensure all driver credentials and dates are current
  • Assist in tracking driver's accident history
  • Track and maintain all DOT required training records in accordance with FMCSR
  • Manage and maintain all printed and electronic driver qualification files, and compliance files in a secure and confidential manner
  • Complete Employment Verification requests for terminated drivers for prospective employers per FMCSR
  • Conduct periodic self-auditing of all DOT driver qualification files and records to ensure compliance
  • Assist with maintenance of active and terminated employee files
  • Scans and files all documents for driver qualification and employee files
  • Assists with special projects as needed
  • Assists with monthly DOT Drug and Alcohol Random Testing
  • Manages SAP records
  • Assist with ensuring all employees are entered into the Clearinghouse database.
  • Assist with running annual queries into the Clearinghouse for all employees.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • One to two years previous DOT file experience

  • One to two years previous DOT file experience

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

  • Intermediate skills in Excel, Word, Outlook, and related computer software
  • Working knowledge of FMCSR as it relates to driver qualification and related compliance items
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, set goals, and accomplish responsibilities with limited supervision
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Dependable and self-motivated
  • Able to work a full time schedule 8 AM to 5 PM Monday thru Friday

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move anywhere up to 25 lbs. Physical agilit ies test may be required. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid outside weather conditions; and extreme cold and/or heat. Work Environment

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is rarely exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
