The Opportunity:
CACI is looking for experienced, innovative, and motivated Systems Engineers to support the mission objectives and needs of the customer, U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) in Omaha, Nebraska. This position is contingent upon award of the United States Strategic Command Information Technology and Logistics Support (SCITLS) contract.
The Systems Engineer is a Technologist who will work closely with a team of dedicated multi-disciplined professionals in supporting customer mission objectives. You'll work on Developing, Engineering, and Fielding of hardware and software solutions and services in direct support of USSTRATCOM. You will collaborate with coworkers, partners, stakeholders, and users to create effective solutions, providing delivery and support for next-generation technologies across a wide-range of services and emerging capabilities that bridge the gap between traditional networks and systems, cloud compute technologies, and other emerging technology. The successful candidate will have a broad knowledge of IT Systems and Network architectures.
Responsibilities:
Integrate and test all hardware, software, patches, configurations changes, STIGs, and new system deployments for compatibility, functionality, and cybersecurity compliance with production and exercise network requirements prior to deployment.
Provide test reports and special deployment instructions and contribute to all service, system, and cybersecurity documentation for system design documents, test plans, version description documents, engineering requirements matrix, and software/hardware testing documents.
Build and test system images before deployment onto production networks. These images will include all required applications, drivers, problem fixes, security updates, and other components required for proper functionality and security compliance.
Test all applicable Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA)/Security patches prior to deployment onto production networks. Testing should be thorough and expedient as to allow for deployment in accordance with U.S. Cyber Command deployment suspense's while not adversely impacting network services or capabilities.
Build and maintain test bed environments for the Non-classified Internet Protocol (IP) Router Network (NIPRNet), Secure Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNet), coalition, and exercise networks to perform system testing and technology demonstration. Testbed and lab environments are Government-Furnished Equipment (GFE) and shall mimic USSTRATCOM production network architectures, systems, and network management systems to provide a representative environment to conduct testing.
The contractor shall evaluate current software offerings and identify if/when software applications can be virtualized, determine configurations, technology pilots, or proof-of-concepts to inform technology selections and AoAs.
The contractor shall provide a continuous review of published trends
in events, incidents, and problems and identify potential root causes and make recommendations for remediations or fixes.
Provide senior level knowledge and Tier 3 support to the customer and their components to include Tier 3 infrastructure, design, implementation, troubleshooting, and support that builds, configures, and administers servers in their area of operation.
Provide remote support and/or travel to customer servers and sites as required.
Recommend best-practice solutions for server/service technologies.
Provide end-to-end monitoring of application performance and availability.
Provide technical leadership and cross-training to peers in areas of expertise.
Act as a resource to team members, participates in team and professional meetings.
Coaches and provides input as to the needs of Infrastructure staff.
Provide 3rd line technical support as needed. The ideal candidate will have experience and a strong engineering background in Design, Migration and Implementation.
Qualifications:
Required:
Currently hold an adjudicated Top Secret clearance and be SCI eligible.
Bachelor’s Degree and 4-8+ years’ experience in the advanced Systems Administration (Tier-III Support), Systems Engineering, or Systems Architecture. AA/AS and additional years of experience may be accepted.
Current DoD 8140 Cybersecurity Certification (e.g. CompTIA Security+)
Professional-level certification in Systems Technology (e.g. CCNP, MCSE, RHCE, VCP, etc.).
In-depth knowledge and experience working with Windows and Linux-based Operating Systems and software.
Experience and knowledge of system and software interoperability requirements and dependencies.
Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills, as well as extensive experience with systems hardware, software applications, operating systems, and network connectivity.
Experience in interfacing with both client managers and system users.
Desired:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Adaptable to changing circumstances and operational needs.
Understanding of Department of Defense Military standards.

Since this position can be worked in more than one location, the range shown is the national average for the position.
The proposed salary range for this position is:
$89,500-$188,000
