Title and Summary

Lead Software Engineer

As part of an exciting, fast paced environment developing authentication and security solutions in the mobile and e-commerce space, this position will provide technical expertise within the architecture and development lifecycle for new payment authentication products and services. The person in question will specialize in biometric authentication.

Role

• Manage a team of developers and testers

• Develop and maintain technical biometric authentication architecture, strategy and roadmap

• Deliver innovative, cost effective technology solutions which align to enterprise architecture standards and achieve business requirements

• Work closely with other ESS architects, developers, analysts, project managers, business partners / product managers and other MasterCard technology teams to build, test and deliver new authentication features and functionality to market

• Lead technology Proof of Concept (POC) testing & vendor selection for authentication related technology

• Establish technical requirements for authentication certification programs with a strong focus on biometrics

• Ensure that staff has skills and behaviors to perform tasks fully through effective communication of goals, objectives, performance and as necessary improvement plans.

All About You

The ideal candidate would have the following primary skills:

• Experience mentoring and developing resources in a high performance culture

• Advanced knowledge of authentication techniques including biometrics on mobile and web based platforms

• Advanced experience with a variety of architectural patterns including high performance, high availability transaction processing systems and multi-tiered web applications

• Ability to innovate and develop new approaches to complex design problems

• Experience integrating vendor and open source products into an overall system

• Experience leading design and development upon mobile application solutions

• Experience specifying hardware/software requirements, and estimating complex IT efforts

• Web Services – REST/XML/ WSDL/SOAP

• J2EE Web Application/Web Services with JBoss & WebSphere

• Experience in an agile/SCRUM development organization

The ideal candidate may also possess some of these secondary skills:

• Solaris/UNIX & Red Hat Linux

• Fusion Tools including Jira, Crucible, & Bamboo

• Security Coding Techniques and Tools - Fortify, & OWASP vulnerabilities

• Hibernate & Spring

• Subversion Source Control

• Solid understanding of network and virtualized infrastructure

• Experience with distributed processing, cloud computing and Software as a Service architectures

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
