The partnership between Boeing and the UK dates back to the 1930’s and continues to get stronger and deeper, with UK jobs, skills and opportunities being constantly generated to support major UK aircraft programmes such as Apache & Chinook helicopters, C-17 Globemaster, P-8A Poseidon and the E-7 AEW&C, to mention a few.

An exciting new opportunity has arisen within Boeing’s UK Vertical Lift Supply Chain team for a Supply Chain Specialist whose role will be to manage spares support for Chinook Engines and repairable Line Replacement Units (LRU) for the CESA contract.

The Supply Chain Specialist will work in a collaborative environment between Supply Chain Operations and stakeholders employed at various UK locations to administer areas of support for CESA engines. The role is accountable to the Vertical Lift Supply Chain Management Leadership Team.

The successful candidate will need to be proactive, agile thinker and able to create effective inventory plans and strategies to provide optimal support for the Chinook aircraft.

This role is eligible for Hybrid working although there is an expectation to work on site at RAF Odiham at least 3 days per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Effective management of all assigned parts held in the CESA inventory to support Chinook engines;

  • Daily scrutiny of customer’s requirements to satisfy aircraft demands;

  • Creation of supply solutions to meet customer’s Required Delivery Dates;

  • Coordinate and plan the timely input of engines and LRUs into the repair cycle at US Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs);

  • Track shipments from US OEMs through to receipt of equipment into RAF Odiham’s Engine Bay Facility;

  • Manage the inventory and demand requirements against contractual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs);

  • Utilise data extracted from GOLDesp to maintain a forecast of engine output needs based on the anticipated rejection of engines;

  • Participate in weekly meetings with the customer to update engine and LRU availability.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience with the use of inventory management tools or ERP systems (TAV/MJDI/SAP)

  • Sophisticated Data Analytical skills

  • MS Excel: Advanced level

This position requires the ability to acquire a UK security Clearance for which the UK Government requires UK residency. The successful candidate will hold, or have the ability to acquire, Security Clearance (SC). All information will be checked and verified.
