FAMILY & CHILD LEARNING CENTERS Nutrition Aide in OCONTO, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Purpose Ensures support for food service delivery in the Head Start classroom in the areas of food preparation and service, clean-up, and site sanitation. Essential Job Responsibilities Regular and consistent attendance is an essential function of this position. General Nutrition Duties Maintains a safe and sanitary kitchen environment Washes and sanitizes dishes using proper procedures Meal service, including table setting and delivery of food to tables Purchases food and supplies according to USDA requirements Stores food and supplies appropriately Adapts meals for any special dietary needs Participates in monthly staff meetings Classroom Duties Assists with staff breaks when short staffed (if qualified). Assists in promoting a positive climate for learning. Encourages experimentation, exploration, problem solving, cooperation, socialization, and choice making; asks open-ended questions and listen respectfully to the answers. Works to develop a collaborative approach that benefits all children in the classroom. Cleans and sanitizes classroom and equipment as requested. Cleans bathrooms and hand washing areas as requested. Additional Job Responsibilities Responsible for completing and submitting required nutrition forms as scheduled. Assists in general maintenance and security of facility. Attends agency meetings, trainings, and professional development activities. Coordinates work schedule to meet program needs. Other duties as assigned. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of USDA\'s Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) requirements. Knowledge of appropriate methods of food service sanitation. Knowledge of Developmentally Appropriate Practices in feeding children. Daily standing, walking, reaching, and grasping to service meals. The ability to carry and lift up to 25lbs safely Arrives at work on time, punctually attends and actively participants in all required meetings, training and overnight retreats and training. Ability to respond appropriately (both mentally and physically) to an emergency or a crisis. Patient and professional attitude toward program participants while managing a busy workload. Respectful, cooperative, and reliable team member and participant in program activities.
