Job Title: Mechanical Assembler

Job Description

Design and manufacture conveyor systems to keep consumer packaged goods moving in ways that are faster, more reliable, and more efficient. Prepare work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials. Position parts and subassemblies by following assembly instructions and drawings. Assemble components by mechanically fastening parts and subassemblies. Verify specifications by measuring completed conveyor sections. Keep equipment operational by completing preventative maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, specifications, and parts lists.

• Gather parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.

• Position parts and subassemblies by following assembly instructions and drawings.

• Assemble components by mechanically fastening parts and subassemblies.

• Verify specifications by measuring completed conveyor sections.

• Complete preventative maintenance procedures to keep equipment operational.

Essential Skills

• Strong mechanical aptitude

• Ability to read and interpret a tape measure

• Experience with hand tools such as ratchets, wrenches, battery and pneumatic operated tools

• Ability to retain information with regard to standard assembly/disassembly procedures

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Candidates with prior experience doing mechanical assembly or experience with interpreting blueprints are preferred

• Ability to work 1st shift and occasional overtime as needed

Work Environment

1st shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday. Occasional overtime as needed during the typical week (no weekends). Climate controlled shop. The facility employs 80-90 full-time employees across all shifts and office personnel.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00
