Salary Range: $23.00 to $25.00 Hourly

The Mosaics Professional The Mosaic Professional is a Direct Support Professional responsible for providing mosaic art and related art experiences and education to students/clients in the adult day programs and the Nonpublic School programs. This position involves working collaboratively on projects/goals with the Supervisor of Creative Program. This position also involves working with community professionals at our Fine Arts Building. Mosaic Professional is an integral part of a creative team that assists in directing the TERI Artists, creating mosaics pieces for display, retail, and artistic expression. This position is a Direct Support Professional position with responsibilities that include assisting individuals with personal care, providing behavioral support, and obtaining a class B drivers license.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops and delivers adapted mosaics lessons that addresses all levels of client ability.
  • Oversees a group of up to 4 individuals
  • Teaches a full range of art mediums to individuals at all stages.
  • Provides creative and client appropriate art activities to individual and groups of clients.
  • Uses a range of teaching approaches to make lessons enjoyable, challenging, and productive.
  • Structures lessons to reflect the needs of individuals/groups
  • Participates in staff meetings and in-service trainings.
  • Accompany and rehearse with guests as needed.
  • Lead/oversee rehearsals for mosaics programming and TERI Special Events, including artists

Education and/or Experience

BA/BS degree in Education, Art Education, Studio Art, Fine Art, Mosaics, or related field, ability to operate mosaic studio equipment, and one (1) year prior experience working with developmentally disabled individuals or related field required.

Other Skills and Abilities

Demonstrates personal skills, creative talent, and ability in mosaics, preferably proficiency with multiple tools and mediums.

Demonstrates the ability to develop, write, and deliver a genre of arts and mosaics curriculum.
