Job Description

Sheet metal helpers will be responsible for installing all types of sheet metal ductwork including spiral, galvanized, rectangular, double wall, and stainless steel. General knowledge of piping and controls is required as we install and retrofit systems. Responsibilities include measuring and cutting appropriate sizes of sheet metal, as well as installing preassembled ducts. Candidates must be able to interpret blueprints and complete layouts when needed and use scribers, dividers, and squares to mark dimensions on materials.

Responsibilities

• Install various types of sheet metal ductwork: spiral, galvanized, rectangular, double wall, and stainless steel.

• Measure and cut appropriate sizes of sheet metal.

• Install preassembled ducts.

• Interpret blueprints and complete layouts when necessary.

• Use scribers, dividers, and squares to mark dimensions on materials.

Essential Skills

• Experience with sheet metal installation.

• Knowledge of HVAC systems.

• Ability to install ductwork.

• General knowledge of piping and controls.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with VAV boxes and offsets.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience with commercial sheet metal.

• Effective communication skills with crews and customers.

Work Environment

This position involves working on new construction in a large, 295,000 sq ft warehouse facility. Candidates must be comfortable working in the heat. The work schedule is Monday to Saturday from 7 AM to 3 PM, and PPE is required.
