Description

Seeking a nearly 100% remote role? We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Oakland, California. In this role, you will be responsible for performing account reconciliations, managing the general ledger, and ensuring accurate financial records. You will also work on month-end close activities and utilize various accounting software tools. You would be coming into the office once a month at most.

• Displaying a strong understanding of US GAAP accounting.

• Efficiently executing accounting close and financial reporting processes, which involve:

• Accurate and timely monthly revenue recognition and reporting, complying with ASC 606.

• Preparing monthly general ledger entries for various locations.

• Interpreting and documenting impacts of contracts on revenue recognition.

• Collaborating with cross-functional groups for accurate report generation, billing, and collections.

• Creating monthly aging reports for accounts receivable.

• Maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts and subledgers.

• Analyzing and improving workflow and processes, supporting initiatives for automation and system implementations.

• Preparing schedules needed for corporate compliance, annual audits, and special projects.

• Creating property statements for property tax assessment.

• Reviewing program financial statements.

  Requirements

Required qualifications:

• Minimum of five years of experience in accounting, with increasing responsibilities.

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting from an accredited institution.

• Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook.

• Intermediate to advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to multitask, work independently, and prioritize work challenges and projects.

• Experience working with an ERP system such as NetSuite
