Primary Purpose

Develop and implement distribution thermography inspection program and quality control program, within Reliability Inspections, plans, procedures and instructions. Oversee contractors to ensure adherence to schedule, quality and safety expectations. Develop and maintain an environment that promotes diversity and high productivity within Reliability Inspections. Implement quality processes in a way that ensures all criteria and procedures are adhered to. Be able to identify areas for improvement within the Reliability Inspections.

Position may be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.

Primary Duties

  • Oversee the development and execution of the Reliability Inspections quality control activities in a manner that fosters teamwork and meets or exceeds established criteria and targets for both Thermography and visual inspections.

  • Oversee thermography contractors by developing and maintaining an environment that fosters a high-performance culture, and a learning organization includes budget and schedule activities.

  • Maintain a field presence and perform distribution quality control inspections. This includes interfacing with organizations such as Training, Engineering Standards and Methods to ensure continuous improvement through quality findings.

  • Facilities open and honest communication with all personnel. Develop methods to assess communication effectiveness and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Scope

  • Measure and monitor the performance of internal resources and contractors to ensure safety and quality are met or exceeded. Serve as support group lead for other Reliability Inspections groups in the area of safety and quality.

  • Lead the performance of thermography contractors to meet Company safety, reliability, and financial and departmental goals. Internal and external contacts include Vice Presidents, Directors, and Managers, Employees and Contractor Management Teams and employees. Routine and strategic decisions are made in collaboration with the Contract Management Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline and 4-7 years' experience in the field operations

  • Two (2) years experience in Construction and Maintenance activities, particularly quality control inspection programs

  • Level II thermal imaging certification required by end of year one

  • Excellent oral and written skills.

  • Ability to interact with all levels of ComEd organization.

  • Valid driver's license with access to insured vehicle.

  • Proven ability to resolve issues independently.

  • Demonstrated analytical skills.

  • Ability to develop performance indicators and appropriate analysis.

  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus, establish trust, communicate effectively, and foster culture change.

  • Demonstrated business acumen, customer awareness and ability to create value.

  • Computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft office.

  • Ability to lead others.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with emphasis on total quality management

  • ISO 9000, ANSI N45.2.23, or comparable certifications.

  • Level 1 thermal certification, UAS part 107 pilot

  • Annual salary will vary based on a candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors:USD $84,000.00/Yr. - USD $126,000.00/Yr.
