Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides assessment, consultation, brief intervention, and referrals/case management to UCOR employees.

  • Provides assessment, treatment, crisis intervention, and referrals in accordance with regulatory and agency requirements. Counseling staff will also participate in the implementation of educational programs under the guidance of the Program Manager

  • Provides behavioral health and mental health consultation, counseling, and case management to employees and assist in securing/referring for additional support/care/treatment as appropriate

  • Conducts risk assessments

  • Coordinates care and patient follow-up

  • Interfaces with the workforce, management, Department of Energy, and other stakeholders as required

  • Assists with program success, future development, and workforce and community engagement

  • Serves as a subject matter expert in the area of mental health and substance abuse

  • Ensures confidentiality, accurate documentation, and record keeping compliant with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations

  • May be required to assist in ancillary office/clinic duties such as scheduling, generating reports, assessments, metrics, etc.

  • Provides training, education, and presentations on related mental health/substance abuse topics to the workforce as requested

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have completed an accredited graduate program in Social Work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education an independent and unencumbered license in the state of Tennessee as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker

  • Must be a Licensed Professional Counselor as required by the state of Tennessee with unencumbered licensing/certification as a Mental Health Service Provider as required by the state of Tennessee

  • Experience with risk assessment in an outpatient setting

  • Familiarity with brief interventions or willingness to learn, implement and become certified, if needed

  • Willingness to provide community and workforce education (presentations)

  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality

  • Strong critical thinking skills including problem solving and decision making

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, with attention to detail and accuracy

  • Take initiative on issues that arise and communicate with appropriate staff, as needed

  • Able to maintain a professional demeanor in stressful situations

  • Ability to create and edit written materials

  • Ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences

  • Demonstrate collegiality with all employees

  • Strong time management, organizational, and follow-through skills

  • Ability to work independently as well as assisting other team members when needed

  • Requires regular and predictable attendance and punctuality

  • Must be competent in the Windows operating system environment, Adobe Professional, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and learn other software as needed

Desired Qualifications:

  • Preferred 2-3 years’ experience in mental health and/or substance abuse counseling (individual and group)

Physical Demands

  • Requires sitting for long periods of time, working at a desk

  • Some bending and stretching could be required

  • Working under stress and use of computer/phone required

  • Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard

  • Occasionally may be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and/or crouch

  • May occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds
