Job Title: Mid- or High-Level Engineering Technician

Job Description

We are seeking Mid- or High-Level Engineering Technicians responsible for technical functions supporting engineering activities. These activities include the design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, or specialized test equipment. The role involves conducting engineering tests and detailed experimental testing to collect design data or assist in research work. You will perform operational tests and fault isolation on systems and equipment, assist in determining methods to remedy malfunctions, and aid in the design, construction, test, and checkout of test equipment.

Hard Skills

• Operating industrial furnaces, vacuum systems, and other large equipment

• Reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, or engineering instructions

• Performing preventative maintenance or calibration of equipment or systems

• Adjusting or replacing defective or improperly functioning circuitry or electronic components

• Setting up standard test apparatus or devising tests to evaluate performance and reliability

• Analyzing and interpreting test data

• Calibrating, aligning, and modifying circuitry and components

• Writing technical reports and developing charts, graphs, and schematics

Soft Skills

• Discussing layout and assembly procedures with Engineers or management

• Recommending changes in circuitry or installation specifications

• Providing user applications or engineering support

• Offering customer support and education

• Identifying and resolving equipment malfunctions

• Handling hazardous materials safely

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

Work Environment

On-Site Temperature Regulated Facility, M - TH 6:30 - 4:30
