Actalent Electrical Engineer in Oak Ridge, Tennessee

Electrical Design Engineer - Oak Ridge, TN - Hybrid

The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the electronic design and development of nuclear instrumentation and measurement systems used for radiation detection and radioisotope identification. The position entails all types of board-level circuit design with an emphasis on FPGA design (board-level design and FPGA programming). This position will be onsite Tuesday-Thursday with Monday and Friday allowing for WFH flexibility. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualizing, designing, simulating, implementing, and validating low-noise electronics using analog, digital, and FPGA design techniques.

  • PCB bring-up, debugging, verification testing, and performance characterization of new designs.

  • Compliance testing and documentation.

  • Teaming with Marketing to align product design and performance specifications to overall product requirements.

Skills & Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related technical field

  • Must be eligible to obtain DOD clearance

  • 5-10 years of professional relevant experience with the following:

  • Experience with digital, analog and mixed signal circuit design.

  • FPGA programming using Verilog (SystemVerilog or VHDL will be considered).

  • Simulation using ModelSim

  • PCB bring-up/debugging/verification
