The Marine Crew is a professional and hard-working team of four that maintains marine and freshwater infrastructure at all Washington State Parks. The Marine Crew's mission is to serve the public by maintaining and enhancing public access features such as piers, docks, boat launches, and buoys.

 

Based at beautiful Deception Pass State Park, the crew travels by boat and vehicle extensively throughout the state. Being outside and on the water, accomplishing complex and challenging projects, traveling to amazing saltwater and freshwater parks, and working closely with a skilled crew all make the Marine Crew the best place to work at Washington State Parks. Duties

Under the direct supervision of the Statewide Marine Facilities Manager, the Marine Crew C&M Supervisor oversees the planning, direction, and coordination of the Marine Crew's success in construction, renovation, remodel, repair, inspection, and maintenance of Marine State Park buildings, facilities, vessels, equipment, and vehicles.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Serving as the lead and coordinator of maintenance for marine and freshwater facilities:

  • Lead and direct maintenance, repair, and operational development of marine facilities and equipment.
  • Coordinate with region maintenance managers and area managers on emergent and unforeseen maintenance needs of existing facilities.
  • Oversee statewide field operations for the Marine Crew on constructions and maintenance projects including docks, floats, buoys, and piers.

Supervise:

  • Schedule work priorities and shift coverage, mentor, recommend disciplinary and corrective action, perform hiring interviews, and develop work plans and evaluations.
  • Recruit and hire trades and maintenance staff.

Project Coordination:

Responsible for the coordination and completion of preventative, deferred, routine, equipment, and emergency maintenance.

Performs repair and maintenance work in trades including carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, water and vessel systems, and other equipment.
