Job Description:

About the Role :

The IT Plant Support Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the technical support operations for our manufacturing plants. This role will be responsible for managing a team of IT support staff, maintaining the plant's technology infrastructure, and providing technical assistance to end-users. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT support, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and manage a team of IT support technicians, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.

  • Build and maintain an effective working relationship with plant stakeholders as a business partner.

  • Ensure the team follows established processes and procedures for incident resolution and service request fulfillment.

  • Coordinate and prioritize support requests, ensuring timely resolution of technical issues.

  • Troubleshoot hardware and software problems, providing assistance to end-users as needed.

  • Oversee the maintenance of IT systems, equipment, and networks within the plant, including performing regular updates and upgrades.

  • Develop and implement procedures for handling IT-related incidents and emergencies, ensuring a rapid and effective response.

  • Provide training and support to plant staff on the use of IT systems, software applications, and equipment.

  • Work with external vendors and service providers to procure IT equipment and services for the plant, and monitoring vendor performance.

  • Support established security measures to protect the plant's IT infrastructure from cyber threats and unauthorized access.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards related to IT security and data protection.

  • Identify opportunities for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of IT support operations within the plant.

Service Delivery:

  • Oversee the resolution of IT incidents and service requests within agreed-upon service levels.

  • Monitor performance metrics and KPIs, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.

  • Develop and maintain documentation, knowledge base articles, and training materials for the IT Plant Support team.

Customer Support:

  • Serve as a point of escalation for complex technical issues, providing advanced troubleshooting and resolution assistance.

  • Interact with end-users to understand their IT support needs, gather feedback, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.

  • Implement strategies to proactively address recurring issues and prevent future incidents.

Technical Expertise:

  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to IT service management.

  • Provide technical guidance and assistance to the service desk team, helping to resolve challenging issues and improve technical skills.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance the efficiency of the IT Plant Support team.

  • Collaborate with other IT teams and stakeholders to implement IT service management best practices and standards.

Important Details: This is a hybrid role with travel as needed, approximately 15% to manufacturing sites across the US and Canada.

About You :

You’ll fit right in if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience) preferred

  • 4 years minimum of relevant experience within an IT Support environment; people management experience preferred

  • Strong technical knowledge of IT systems, hardware, software, and networking principles.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with end-users and technical teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage workload effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent IT service management certification is preferred.
