Winland Foods Finance/Costing Support Manager in Oak Brook, Illinois

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Costing Manager to join the finance team at Winland Foods. The Finance Costing Manager will oversee a team focused on the costing needs of the plants and business teams. This is a manager level finance position with responsibility for providing accurate costing information on new and existing products to support critical business decisions. This role will have responsibility for identifying process improvement opportunities and partnering with Finance and Business teams to strategically look at cost and pricing opportunities for new and existing business. Additionally, the team has responsibility for supporting plants with product cost questions and executing the AOP process.

As part of the Finance organization, this position is responsible for supporting the financial goals of the plants and categories, internal reporting, and process improvement analyses. This includes, but not limited to, coordinating the analysis of costing information to drive recognition of business opportunities, investments, and avoiding risks; driving continuous improvements, maintaining effective and accurate costing procedures and collaborating with internal customers to share findings and develop recommendations. The role is also responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the Costing team.

Job Description:

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Partners with the Financial Shared Services organization, Division Operations Finance Leads, Area Finance Managers and Plant Finance Managers to support the costing and financial analyses requirements for the plants

  • Collaborates with the FP&A team on key analyses such as product cost comparisons and other financial reporting.

  • Collaborates with Finance, FP&A, and the Business to identify dynamic costing models and strategically analyze pricing options

  • Responsible for delivering analysis and identifying financial drivers for analysis outcomes.

  • Develops analysis to identify financial opportunities and risks.

  • Ability to support reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.

  • Manages a costing team to ensure they are efficiently meeting the needs of the business.

  • Develops costing team members to be able to work independently, while still adhering to standardized work practices.

  • Identifies business gaps and develops processes/standardization to improve those gaps.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required, Master's degree in preferred.

  • CPA preferred

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance/accounting required, with managerial experience.

  • Experience managing staff and supporting teams to complete projects efficiently and accurately.

  • Experience developing complex financial analyses and recommendation for business leaders, and for strategic goals that identify business opportunities and avoid risks required.

  • Experience driving continuous process improvement required.

  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines with accurate and detailed results.

  • Ability to learn the business and understand key drivers to develop effective financial reporting and analysis.

  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral, for effective interaction with finance and operations teams.

  • Ability to travel 5-10% for site visits and meetings.
