Responsibilities

• Reading and Interpreting Technical Documents: They decipher blueprints, sketches, and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) specifications to understand the dimensions, tolerances, and functionalities of the tools and dies they'll be working on.

• Designing and Building Tools and Dies: Using their knowledge and various tools and machinery, they craft tools and dies according to required specifications.

• Operating Machinery: They work with machines like lathes, milling machines, grinders, and wire cutters to shape and assemble the tools and dies.

• Inspecting and Ensuring Quality: They meticulously inspect the finished tools and dies for accuracy, dimensions, and adherence to specifications using measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.

• Repairing and Maintaining Tools and Dies: Throughout their lifecycle, tool and die makers maintain and repair existing tools and dies to ensure continued functionality within production processes.

• Collaboration: They collaborate with engineers and production teams to troubleshoot issues, ensure tools and dies meet functional requirements, and optimize the manufacturing process.
