Job Summary The Medical Assistant provides basic clinical and clerical support in the delivery of patient care under the direction of provider and nurses. Key areas of Medical Assistant responsibility: * Direct patient care; vitals, screenings, patient history, health maintenance, virtual health * Indirect patient care; scheduling, check in/out, referrals, scanning, chart prep, prior authorizations, transportation facilitation, work queues/worklists, case management and discharge planning * Point of care testing; EKG, Hemoglobin A1C, Urinalysis, Hemoglobin POCT, Urine toxicity, INR, hCG * Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR an active CT CNA, EMT, Paramedic Certification. * In lieu of education requirement, at least one year of experience in direct patient care (acute or ambulatory space) may be considered. * Relevant experience or MA externship in a busy medical office preferred. * EPIC EMR experience preferred. * Case Management and discharge planning experience preferred. * Certified BLS to be obtained through employment provided RQI training. To be completed 3 months (90) days of hire or job transfer. * All required credentials to be maintained throughout employment. * Must be able to read and understand oral and written instructions, and effectively communicate information in English. Bi-lingual language skills preferred. * Flexibility to respond to changes in work schedules as necessary or as requested We take great care of careers.
