Description

Summary:

Performs electroencephalography (EEG) brainwave testing that helps a Neurologist establish a diagnosis and treatment plan for the patient.

Responsibilities:

1. Performs on-site EEG and ambulatory EEG testing of patients ranging in age from neonate, infant, pediatric, to adult utilizing the 10-20 method of electrode placement Other tests offered may include evoked potential and EMG

2. Downloads and transfers data from ambulatory EEG tests

3. Communicates effectively with the ordering and interpreting Neurologists

4. Orders and maintains supplies related to EEG testing

5. Maintains a database of patients served by the EEG department

6. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position; including compliance with quality and safety practices

7.Performs other duties as assigned.

Other information:

Required: High school diploma; Previous experience in a health care environment; previous experience or ability to be trained on the job to complete EEG, Ambulatory EEG and video EEG testing

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Desired: Registered EEG technician
