Summer 2025 - Engineering Co-op Location: Akron, OH, United States Job Family : Engineering Job Type : Regular Posted : Feb 10, 2025 Job ID: 54454 Back to Search Results Job Description Apply Now > Save Job Job Saved Control Systems Co-op (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, & Computer) Systems Engineering (Aerospace or Mechanical) Provides support for design, development, validation, testing, & verification of hydro-mech & electro-mech systems Responsible for Braking /Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems Requirements / Design, development of system-level requirements to meet customer specifications for multi-domain systems (e.g. hardware, software, mechanical, hydraulic) Requirements validation (e.g. traceability, simulation, analysis & review) System Integration- Hardware In the Loop (HIL) System Integration Testing & System Requirements Verification Flight Test Support, analysis of aircraft test data & development of associated test tools (e.g. Simulink.) Modeling including the use of tools such as MATLAB/Simulink in order to develop simulation models of aircraft, aircraft systems & individual hydraulic & electrical components Control Algorithm Development- developing & tuning of control algorithms associated with Brake Control, E-brake Control & Nose Wheel Steering Prepare & review documentation: technical specifications & reports, design documents, user guides, work instructions, test plans/procedures Software Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer) Responsible for software development, validation, & verification of hydro-mechanical & electro-mechanical systems (Brake Control & Tire Pressure Monitoring) Development of software-level requirements to meet customer specifications for multi-domain systems (e.g. hardware, software, mechanical, hydraulic) Validation of software-level requirements (e.g. traceability, simulation, analysis & review) Hardware Software Integration (HSI) testing Model Simulation testing Flight Certification Support: analysis of aircraft performance data / fault data Modeling including the use of tools such as SCADE/SCADE Test to develop software for flight, and simulation models of aircraft systems & individual hydraulic & electrical components Prepare & review documentation: technical specifications & reports, design documents, user guides, work instructions, test plans/procedures Control Components Engineering (Aerospace or Mechanical) Focused on controls components, development of and resolving issues with suppliers for sensors, valves, & tire pressure monitoring systems Responsible for implementing design changes to existing components; production clarification, obsolescence, improvements in reliability and performance Creating design and development test plans for changes requiring retest. These tests can be endurance, performance, vibration, fluids, electro-mechanical interference, design assurance special tests, and systems integration tests. Responsible for investigations of returned components, following components through to production acceptance testing, measurements, and teardown, submitting tear down reports with root cause to our customers. Responsible for working with quality and our suppliers for recommending and implementing product improvements addressing the identified root cause(s). Supporting internal valve re-design improvement efforts, engineering certification test plan development and support of testing, release of certification test reports, and release of stop orders to allow production of the new component.
