Robert Half HR Generalist in Norton, Ohio

Description We are seeking an HR Generalist to join our team in the construction/contractor industry. This role is based in Norton, Ohio, and offers a contract to hire employment opportunity. As an HR Generalist, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to the recruitment, onboarding, and management of employees.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in tracking applicant progress through the Applicant Tracking System.

• Facilitate the posting of open positions and keep job postings up to date.

• Oversee the entire recruitment and onboarding process across all company locations.

• Collaborate with new hires to ensure the timely completion of all necessary paperwork.

• Consult on employee benefits when required.

• Complete E-Verify and I-9 paperwork for new hires.

• Assist in creating job descriptions and advertising job openings.

• Collaborate with staffing agencies to meet recruitment needs.

• Schedule interviews and conduct follow-ups.

• Maintain updates on HR report in collaboration with the Human Resources Manager.

• Assist in the development and implementation of Human Resources policies, procedures, and programs.

• Respond to employee inquiries regarding Human Resources policies, procedures, and programs.

• Assist with employee relations initiatives.

• Coordinate training seminars with the HR team.

• Assist in arranging travel for interviews when necessary. Requirements • Proficiency in talent acquisition and onboarding processes

• Familiarity with E-Verify and Applicant Track System

• Knowledge of Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and leave of absence management

• Experience with open enrollment procedures

• Understanding of HR policies and procedures

• Ability to manage employee relations effectively

• Experience in coordinating travel arrangements for employees

• Proficiency in employee performance management

• Construction or contractor industry experience is a plus

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field is preferred

• HR certification, such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP, is a plus.
