Express Employment Professionals CNC Machine Repair Technician in Northville, Michigan

A premium manufacturer of ball bearings is in need of an experienced CNC maintenance technician at their clean, climate-controlled facility in Northville, MI. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing company with a team-oriented atmosphere and ample growth & development opportunities.

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for CNC machine repair and recovery and includes responsibility for all mechanical activities for day-to-day operations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Participate in Gemba walks to assist in process improvement.
  • Report to the Maintenance Manager status on on-going projects and equipment.
  • Answer breakdowns as a machine repairer.
  • Follow policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
  • Complete preventative Maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure the equipment operates in accordance with health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of staff and visitors.
  • Lead efforts in diagnosing system malfunctions and prescribes repairs or changes in work and design practices.
  • Ensure tasks are executed in the most effective manner in regards to time, cost, and efficiency.
  • Champion company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with safety procedures and practices good housekeeping.
  • Report or correct unsafe working conditions or practices.
  • Provide accurate time reporting for assigned activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Can work with pumps, black pipe, and PVC.
  • Competent in blueprints and schematics.
  • Experience with FANUC controls.
  • Familiarity with electrical panels and control circuits preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Competent in problem solving and decision making.
  • Controls, PLC, HMI, or industrial ethernet knowledge is preferred.
  • Team player, able to take direction and be self-motivated.
  • High regard for safety standards.
  • Knowledge of Mechanical Standards, tooling assembly & setup.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications preferred.
  • General understanding of mathematics.
  • Able to use and read tape measure, micrometers, calipers, and other measuring equipment (Standard and Metric).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to lift 50lbs.

Education & Experience:

  • 2-5 years minimum of relevant manufacturing maintenance experience is required
  • Advanced technician training, completed related apprenticeship or a minimum of 2 years related experience.
  • Understanding of drawings, schematics and troubleshooting.
  • Previous CNC machine repair and maintenance experience required.
  • NC programming experience a plus.

This is a DIRECT HIRE opportunity offering a full benefits package including PTO, health insurance, a 401k with employee match, and many other perks.

Coverage (availability) is currently needed for both 2nd and 3rd shift hours.

2nd Shift - 3pm - 11:30pm (10% premium)

3rd Shift - 11pm - 7:30am (15% premium)
