Laura Baker Services Association Household Director in Northfield, Minnesota
Laura Baker Services Association is now hiring for the full-time Household Director at our Oak Street Services campus. This position is 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Staffing patterns, hiring and scheduling staff to meet the needs of the household and within the budget of the department, and performing the duties of a direct support professional when needed. Direct care shifts with evening and weekend availability will be required in this position
All household budgets including, but not limited to: petty cash, staff incentive, household supplies, and medical supplies
Client finances as described in the Individual Abuse Prevention Plan and/or the Intensive Support Services Assessment
Monitoring the medical needs of each resident in coordination with the on-site Health Team, including scheduling and gathering necessary information for medical appointments, ordering medications, maintaining medication storage area, ensuring that medication administration is properly documented, monitoring psychotropic medication, and ensuring that medical orders, including diets, are carried out
Taking leadership in the Support Team Meeting process, including documenting the procedures of the team and carrying through on team decisions
Monitoring the household environment to ensure it is clean, safe, home-like, and pleasant
Monitoring all staff training and ensuring that all training requirements are met
Admission and discharge of clients as needed in coordination with Director of Oak Street Services
Required Experience and Education:
Must pass medication certification course and maintain eligibility
Must have and maintain a drivers license
Must pass a background check and maintain eligibility
High School Diploma
Reliable, consistent attendance is an essential function of this position
Preferred Experience and Education:
Minimum of six years of combined education/relevant experience in the Human Services field
Working knowledge of applicable policies and state agency regulations
Working knowledge of basic self-help, leisure, behavior, household management, and community awareness skills
Understand person centered planning
Starting wage for the Household Director position is $23.00 paid hourly (overtime after 40 hours). Benefits are available after the first 60 days of employment to all employees consistently working 30 hours per week or more. Benefits include medical, dental, life insurance, 401k plan, free meals when working and paid time off (vacation, sick time, 1 floating holiday per year, and long-term absence).
