Merck Associate Director, Health Equity Integration – Digital and Community Partnerships in North Wales, Pennsylvania

Job Description

The Associate Director of Health Equity Integration - Digital and Community Partnerships plays a crucial role in leading the development and management of patient-facing digital health equity assets to ensure equitable access and utilization of digital healthcare resources. This involves utilizing data-driven insights to identify and address disparities in digital health engagement and outcomes, collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and deploy digital health solutions, and monitoring and evaluating the performance of patient-facing digital health assets.

Additionally, the position involves identifying and fostering relationships with community organizations and stakeholders to advance healthcare access and equity initiatives. The Associate Director develops and implements programs in collaboration with community partners, supports the management and maintenance of partnerships to ensure alignment with organizational goals and community needs, and measures and reports on the effectiveness of community-based partnerships in improving health outcomes and addressing health disparities.

The role also encompasses engagement in ecosystem shaping activities to identify opportunities for shaping the healthcare environment towards greater equity, contributing to the development and execution of strategies that influence policies, practices, and collaborations to drive health equity, representing the organization in relevant forums, conferences, and initiatives focused on ecosystem shaping and health equity advocacy, and providing insights and recommendations to leadership on ecosystem trends and opportunities to further health equity goals.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities include:

Build new- and manage existing patient-facing digital health equity assets:

  • Lead the development and management of patient-facing digital health equity assets to ensure equitable access and utilization of digital healthcare resources.

  • Utilize data-driven insights to identify and address disparities in digital health engagement and outcomes.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deploy digital health solutions that address patient needs and enhance health equity.

  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of patient-facing digital health assets to drive continuous improvement and impact.

Build new- and manage existing community-based partnerships:

  • Identify and foster relationships with community organizations and stakeholders to advance healthcare access and equity initiatives.

  • Develop and implement programs in collaboration with community partners to promote health equity and address social determinants of health.

  • Support the management and maintenance of partnerships to ensure alignment with organizational goals and community needs.

  • Measure and report on the effectiveness of community-based partnerships in improving health outcomes and addressing health disparities.

Supporting ecosystem shaping activities:

  • Engage in ecosystem mapping and analysis to identify opportunities for shaping the healthcare environment towards greater equity.

  • Contribute to the development and execution of strategies that influence policies, practices, and collaborations to drive health equity.

  • Represent the organization in relevant forums, conferences, and initiatives focused on ecosystem shaping and health equity advocacy.

  • Provide insights and recommendations to leadership on ecosystem trends and opportunities to further health equity goals.

Reporting and Supervisory Responsibilities:

The Associate Director of Health Equity Operations will report directly to the Director, Health Equity Integration. This position does not have any direct supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in a relevant field (e.g., public health, healthcare administration, business administration).

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in healthcare, public health, or related fields with a focus on health equity, digital health, or community engagement.

  • Demonstrated leadership in developing and managing digital health initiatives and community partnerships.

  • Strong understanding of health equity principles, social determinants of health, and healthcare disparities.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.

  • Ability to analyze data and outcomes to drive decision-making and continuous improvement.

  • Ability to work hybrid, at least 3 days per week at the North Wales, Pennsylvania (Upper Gwynedd) office.

  • Travel the amount the role requires (10 - 15%).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., public health, healthcare administration, business administration).
