Job Summary and Qualifications

  • Under the supervision of the AVP of Quality Management, performs the following concurrent and/or criteria-based screening functions and data collection functions: surgical case review/blood utilization review, generic screens, risk management screens, drug usage evaluation, infection control screening, and any other assigned screening functions on designated patient groups.

  • Recognizes variations from criteria and communicates with a variety of clinical disciplines and/or physician reviewers to clarify/justify the variation.

  • Assists the quality, clinical and medical Staff in committee work to include design, execution, analysis and reporting of focused and ongoing studies; agenda and material preparation for all QI/PI meetings as assigned, minute taking; assessment of compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC) Performance Improvement (PI) standards and related PI elements in the Leadership function and standards of practice; assists in implementation of corrective action for non-compliance.

  • Consults with the clinical support department to which assigned, to foster development of a Performance Improvement program for the Medical Staff, assess compliance with standards and assist with corrective action as needed.

  • Maintains databases to support quality initiatives such as Crimson, CHOIS, Qlikview, SHARP, and NDNQI.

  • Regularly updates hospital quality dashboard and support other departments in ongoing efforts to promote consistency of quality data/ metrics. Serves as the Compliance 360 site administrator.

  • Prepares agenda and documents for Quality Council and Policy Committee meetings, minute taking.

What qualifications you will need:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a health care related field. Texas licensed RN preferred.

  • Post-graduate education (Master’s in Business or Healthcare Administration) preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of two years strong experience in Performance Improvement and/or Quality Management activities in acute care health setting.
