Coordinate and perform quality diagnostic medical imaging procedures for the CT department utilizing computerized medical imaging equipment.
Primary Responsibilities:
Maintain Quality Control/Quality Assurance in accordance with ACR and TDH standards and regulations. Assures that all documentation is accurately recorded and kept in an organized manner susceptible to instant inspection if needed
Perform a variety of CT procedures using independent judgment to provide quality patient care while consistently displaying outstanding judgment in film critique
Operate a variety of equipment for radiographic and CT procedures
Demonstrate competence to do assigned client care responsibilities in a way that meets the age-specific and developmental needs of persons served by the department
Appropriately adapt assigned client assessment, treatment and/or care methods to accommodate the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, age-specific and other developmental needs of each person served
Coordinate and prioritize procedures during the work day to maintain a high level of patient care and continuity
Provide clarification of orders to scheduling and managerial staff
Protect patients from various safety factors
Review charts in advance of patient appointments to identify need for additional documents and/or information
Evaluate patient for clinical indications and possible history of contrast allergies
Select the proper CT protocols based on the ordered procedure
Determine appropriate type of oral contrast and amount as indicated and prepare all Intravenous injections for patient treatment
Upon completion of a procedure, ensure that the images have been formatted correctly, films/CD printed if needed, sent to the PACS and deliver chart to the radiologist
Explain pre and post procedure information to patient
Ensure the CT department is adequately supplied, check equipment status daily and report any problems that could change the work flow
Performs all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
High school graduate
Graduate of AMA approved School of Radiological Sciences or other accepted and approved equivalent
Licensed by the Texas Department of Health and American Registry of RadiologyTechnologists (ARRT) and meet continuing education requirements at all times
3+ years of experience in a clinical radiology clinic
Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of CT Registry
1+ years of experience as a clinical CT technologist
Physical & Mental Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 100 pounds
Ability to sit for extended periods of time
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Ability to use fine motor skills to operate equipment and/or machinery
Ability to receive and comprehend instructions verbally and/or in writing
Ability to use logical reasoning for simple and complex problem solving
Ability to use full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients
Occasionally requires exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids
