Amazon Robotics internship/co-op/full-time opportunities will be based out of the Greater Boston Area in our two state-of-the-art facilities in Westborough, MA and North Reading, MA. Both campuses provide a unique opportunity to have direct access to robotics testing labs and manufacturing facilities.

Must be eligible and available for a full-time (40h / week) 6-month internship between January 2025 to June 2025 or July 2025 to December 2025

Within Amazon Robotics, the Robotics Deployment Engineering team oversees the installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning of Amazon Robotics equipment within new and existing fulfillment centers. This field engineering-based role requires technical skills related to the deployment of robotic equipment including work with mechanical, electrical, networking, and software systems during a deployment. Training is provided on the specific systems that the engineers will be working on, though candidates should possess existing knowledge on the basic operations of robotics and networked mechanical and electrical systems prior to taking the position.

The robotics systems that the Deployment Engineering Co-Op will be deploying may be in various phases of a product life cycle. The candidate will be expected to work to develop process documentation and modify the existing processes in partnership with project and program managers to drive business performance and sustainability. Proven technical knowledge, a love of field work, and a keen interest in diving deep into the workings of the many robotics systems that Amazon uses are critical to success in this role.

This position requires up to 75% travel. Valid US drivers license required.

Basic Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in college/university working towards a BS degree in Engineering of closely related STEM field and must have at least one semester/term/quarter of school left to complete after the end of the co-op

  • Must be eligible and available for a full-time (40h / week) 3-month internship between May/June 2025 to July/August 2025.

  • Experience working on mechanical, electrical, IT networked, or software systems.

  • Understanding of data collection, reporting processes, and ability to make data-driven decisions.

  • Ability to read technical drawings and/or reading CAD models.

  • Ability to troubleshoot robotics systems, perform testing, monitoring robotics system performance, etc.

  • Ability to read and develop technical documentation and process instructions.

  • Willingness to work primarily in a construction or warehouse environment in a field-based role and travel extensively across the US.

  • Must be proficient in standard office software tools and processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with creative problem solving and articulating technical challenges and solutions

  • Exposure to any of the following concepts: AWS and other Web Technologies, schedulers, workflows, state machines, multi-threading, and networking protocols

  • Interest in Robotics, including coursework or clubs

  • Experience working on hardware integration or complex mechanical-electrical or networked equipment.

  • Ability to demonstrate past use of data to drive decision making processes.

  • Practical understanding of network fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, routing, switching, HTTP).

  • Knowledge of robot specific experience (Fanuc, ABB), Allen Bradley PLC experience. C++, Python, Java, etc.
