The ZF Off-Highway Solutions Minnesota Inc. team designs and manufactures hydraulic and electrohydraulic components, controls, and brake systems for off-highway machines.

The Model Shop / Tool Room (MSTR) Machinist manufactures prototypes, fixtures, and provides support for all areas of manufacturing. Prototypes and fixtures range from simple to complex. The MSTR Machinist manufactures parts from raw material making all decisions in the process to get to a final product. MSTR team members decide how to fixture their parts, program them using CAM, and make decisions on order of operations to get a precise final product.

What you can look forward to as a MSTR Machinist :

• Program vertical machining centers and lathes using Mastercam and Pro Engineer Creo.

• Set-up and operate manual and CNC mills and lathes to produce precision parts and fixtures.

• Inspect parts produced using hand tools, gauges, CMM’s, and Faro arm with laser scanner.

• 3D printing of prototypes and fixtures.

• Collaborate with Engineer’s to improve designs for manufactural ability.

Your Profile as a MSTR Machinist:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

• Minimum of two years of tool and die training with technical school degree.

• Two years related experience in a model shop or tool room environment is desired but not required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Basic knowledge of CNC programming, CAD/CAM and operation on three axis machining centers and lathes is desired.
