Position Overview:
At the Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL), we take pride in and highly value our employees. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Jira Support Assistant to join our team. Comprehensive training will be provided to help you support our team effectively. Key Responsibilities:
Actively engages in training to understand Jira as a project management tool, with the guidance of a Jira Administrator
Provides basic technical support and leverage scripting skills to assist users effectively and resolve issues
Assists with managing user accounts and permissions for Jira and Confluence, gaining practical experience in user support
Helps set up and configure Jira projects, workflows, and boards, while learning best practices along the way
Participates in meetings to gather insights on project requirements and contribute feedback for system improvements, fostering collaboration with various teams
Shows enthusiasm for learning Jira, Confluence and software development methodologies to support your professional growth
Qualifications:
Must be a USU student pursuing a degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field with a minimum of 1 year remaining in school
Must be able to work 15-20 hour per week during semesters and up to 40 hours per week during summer breaks
Basic understanding of software development concepts, including scripting skills
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Eagerness to learn new tools and technologies
Must be US citizen, lawful permanent resident of the US, or other US person
