Description: The Materials Control Supervisor will be Responsible for overseeing the control and flow of materials throughout the production process. Supervises staff, reporting functions, including, receiving, stocking, warehousing, parts picking, cycle counting, transaction activities and problem solving. Responsible for coordinating the activities associated with these functions to meet customer (internal and external) requirement in an efficient manner. Job Responsibilities Manages all aspects of the materials control process (people and processes) in both internal and external warehouses Responsible for the control of inventory in-transit between facilities and warehouses Key contributor in the development and maintenance of materials control metrics (KBI's) Key contributor to the cycle count process, reporting results, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective action steps Responsible for overseeing the picking and packing of customer parts shipments Manages the receipt of materials from vendors (internal and external) for manufacturing Manages material flow coordinators, review staffing needs, workflow and productivity Makes recommendations to improve work processes Problem solving as needed, interfacing with Purchasing, Quality, Manufacturing, and Assembly Works with other departments such as Production, Quality, Engineering, etc., to rectify defective or unacceptable goods through an MRB process Responsible for coordinating the receipt, disposition, and transformation of used parts into resell able, repaired goods Key contributor of the Materials Review Board Manages planning of materials for assigned parts or expensed items, i.e., packaging Required to incorporate clean work practices in daily working routines Maintains thorough knowledge of company's products and understanding of structure Remains current with industry trends and best practices Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies Mentors team by developing their skill/knowledge through advice, coaching, and training opportunities Performs other related duties as assigned Qualifications Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience 5+ years of related experience in a materials/warehousing environment 1+ years of managing people preferred ASCM (APICS) preferred Certified in forklift and materials handling equipment preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent attention to detail, organized and self-motivated Proficient in Microsoft Office Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that changes daily Experience with ERP software relating to inventory and shop floor controls; ERP LX or BPCS desired Understanding of warehouse and inventory control principles Excellent Customer Service skills Works independently as well as in a team environment Physical Demands Employee must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily and, if requested, reasonable accommodations may be made to enable employee with disabilities to perform essential job functions, absent undue hardship.
