Aston Carter Accountant in North Haven, Connecticut

Job Title: Accountant

Location: North Haven, Connecticut (Fully On-Site)

Job Type: Permanent Position

Hours: Monday-Friday, 1st Shift

Reports to: CFO

Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our team in the manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will possess strong Excel skills, the ability to multi-task, and must be a team player who is adaptable to varying daily tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Direct and Indirect Reports across all divisions.

  • Balance cash, clear checks, and provide reporting to the Account Manager.

  • Run Hot Lists and Aging reports, reviewing for past due accounts and contacting customers as needed.

  • Prepare and enter journal entries for all divisions.

  • Apply accounts receivable cash into systems.

  • Generate monthly reports to ensure financial accuracy.

  • Calculate and produce monthly commissions for all divisions, communicating with relevant personnel.

  • Prepare year-end commissions for sales representatives based on annual performance.

  • Conduct monthly sales report analysis.

  • Create and manage inventory tickets, entering data into Excel.

  • Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications: Hard Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Accounting or Finance.

  • 1+ years of experience with Accounting.

  • Strong understanding of GAAP principles.

  • Experience supporting Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
