    Minimum Requirements:

    Must New York State Teacher Certification - Current GTA Member

    Demonstrated ability to produce or co-produce large student-centered events

    Demonstrated ability to collaborate with students to design, produce, and improve events

    Demonstrated ability to provide advising and coaching to groups or teams of students

    Excellent skills related to communication, trust-building with people who have a variety of perspectives, organizing, project management and time management

    Excellent ability to teach about equity-related topics in persuasive ways with individuals who do not already identify as equity advocates.

    Demonstrated ability to be a warm demander with elementary and secondary students so they can reach high expectations

    Desired Qualifications:

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Excellent workshop, coaching, and facilitation skills

    Solid understanding of the three core values for equity in Greece CSD: instructional equity, restorative protocols, and servant leadership activities

    Excellent project management skills

    Demonstrated ability to facilitate teams of adults that focus on academic achievement and/or equity

    Experience as the lead adviser/coach of a team/club of students

    Knowledge of the school improvement process

    Knowledge of school-level equity committees

    Knowledge of some previous student-centered programming produced by the Department of Equity and Educational Research

    Excellent attention to details

    Excellent ability to persuade other adults and students to serve as volunteers for the production of student engagement activities

    Position Summary/Responsibilities:

    OVERVIEW: The Student Engagement and Equity Coach will be responsible for overseeing the production of the Department of Equity and Educational Research’s activities that promote solidarity, service-oriented leadership skills, and social responsibility among students. In addition, this TOSA will aid with the recruitment, coaching, and leadership development of building-level equity committee members at multiple schools.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Serve as a co-adviser for the Superintendent’s Advisory Council

    Co-lead or assist the production of student leadership events, programs, and celebrations (i.e. the Celebration of Black Excellence, the annual HBCU Tour, the Blackout Gala, and more).

    Actively identify and mentor culturally responsive employees to serve as facilitators of school-level equity committees

    Coordinate with the Director of Arts, the Director of Humanities and the MOSAICS club advisors to continue the development of extra-curricular activities

    Serve as liaison between the Director of Equity and building Guardians of Equity seeking to produce multicultural programming

    Create proposals for additional activities that promote service-oriented leadership, solidarity, social responsibility, and the importance of academic excellence

    Develop expertise and the ability to provide coaching for teams to utilize the 4 Disciplines of Execution (4DX)

    Serve as a thought partner for the advisers of student clubs that align with the District’s core values for equity

    Create professional learning opportunities that promote the district’s core values for equity and facilitate progress on the school improvement plan goals throughout the district

    Support the development of efforts to recruit, retain, and build solidarity among members of the GCSD equity committees

    Execute other tasks as assigned by the Director for Equity and Educational Research

    This position may be called on to substitute in classroom(s) when the need for a daily substitute arises. In very rare cases, this position may be called upon to fulfil a vacancy in the appropriate tenure area until the vacancy can be filled

    The individual in this position may be invited to attend Summer Leadership Academy (SLA) and will be compensated at the Professional Rate ($35/hour)
