Housekeeping / Laundry Aide Pay Rate Range : $15.10 - $15.50 / hour. Full-time Position.

6:30a - 2:30p Five days per week - Every other weekend - 2 week repeating schedule

  Housekeeping/Laundry Aide:

  Housekeeping/Laundry team members assist with ensuring the health and wellbeing of our residents by providing housekeeping or laundry support. Housekeeping individual is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of all facility areas, including but not limited to, resident rooms, common areas and offices. Laundry indidual is responsible for caring for facility linens and personal clothing of residents in a variety of ways including collecting, laundering, folding and returning the fresh, clean linens/clothing to the designated locations.

Responsibilities

Housekeeping Aide Responsibilities:

• Maintain cleanliness of general areas and assigned rooms of residents.

• Help move personal belongings of residents and clean and disinfect floor, furniture, bed and bathroom according to accepted procedures when a resident is discharged or transferred to another room.

• Follow safety rules, and where applicable, maintain vigilance concerning fire regulations and hazards as stated in procedures.

• Practice infection control principles in cleaning methods and personal hygiene.

• Keep cleaning compounds and hazardous substances stored properly for the protection of residents and staff.

• Collect and dispose of trash and other refuse in such a manner that prevents the transmission of disease and does not create a nuisance or fire hazard, nor a breeding place for insects and rodents.

  Laundry Aide Responsibilities:

• Sorts soiled linen or clothes into appropriate categories according to type, soiling, fabric and color.

• Labels residents clothing and retains records of personal possesions of each resident.

• Assists in locating missing articles of clothing.

• Loads washing machines, selects wash cycle, adds soaps, detergents, and bleaches.

• Transfers washed linen or clothes into dryers and start machine.

• Sorts dry linen, and folds and prepares for delivery to designated areas within the facility.

• Prepares for delivery, and distributes personal garments of residents.

• Removes lint and dust from machines, and keeps laundry area clean on a daily basis.

• Practices good infection control measures in the processing of laundry items and in personal habits.

Qualifications

Housekeeping / Laundry Aide Qualifications:

• Minimum 16 years of age for Housekeeping / Minimum 18 yrs. age required for Laundry

• Position-related experience preferred but not required.

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions required.

  *Individuals under 18 years of age must be excluded from the usage of dangerous equipment such as: compactors.

• This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
