Stark State College Math Tutor (Part Time) in North Canton, Ohio
Our part time Math Lab Assistants (Math Tutors) play an essential role with our student success by helping students learn and understand new concepts and complete assignments. We are looking to fill this position with one to two individuals. Location of Work: May be expected to work at Stark State, North Canton and Akron locations. Typical Hours of Work: (on average about 15-20 hours a week) Stark State Akron Campus - Most shifts are scheduled Monday -Thursday, between hours of 9:00am-7:00pm Fridays & Saturdays (9:00am - 2:00pm) Scheduled shifts are dependent on employee availability Main Campus - Most shifts are scheduled Monday -Thursday, between hours of 9:00am-7:00pm Fridays & Saturdays (9:00am - 2:00pm) Scheduled shifts are dependent on employee availability Who We Are: The positive energy at Stark State College comes from exceptionally dedicated employees who work hard for students. Typical Responsibilities Include: One-on-one and group tutoring sessions with students in a non-directive, facilitative approach Assisting students with comprehension of course subject matter Conducting workshops on study skills and techniques Developing aids to assist students with subject understanding To be Considered You'll Need: Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or related field. Prior experience in one-on-one and group tutoring and working with diverse student populations is preferred, although not required. Master's degree in Mathematics preferred, although not required.
